Fri. 8. [8 May 1914] Went to see Father Rouzevalle who showed me
my book. Then to Cook's and so to the College where I found Dr
Bliss. Mary Dodge came in with a Mr Sayer whose brother married
President Wilson's daughter. Dr Bliss talked about Bryce who had
just been there. Bryce thought that France with her present colonial
obligations and internal conditions wd be unable to absorb Syria in
any political sense[?]. So back to a long slow evening.
