95 Sloane St Friday Dearest Mother. I am coming home at 6.20 tomorrow. I shall have a terrible deal of luggage but I had better leave[?] it at the station had I not? - all but the essential - and let it be fetched on Sunday early. I've had a most fearful rush and my brain whirls.
Today I lunched with Sir Edward and Mr Haldane - Willie T. [Tyrrell] told Sir E. I was here and he quickly asked me to lunch. It was most interesting and delightful. I'll tell you about it.
Sir Frank S. [Swettenham] is coming to tea and I dine with Domnul and spend the balance of the evening, after he goes to the office, with Willie T.
Sir Henry C.B. hasn't sent for me yet - I'm a little surprised, aren't you? So different from my habits in Constantinople [Istanbul]. Your demented but affectionate daughter Gertrude
