Rounton Grange Aug 25 Dearest Mother. I had thought of Mr Darwin and will ask him. The only man I've fished up out of chaos is Mr du Cane, but Domnul may turn up at the end of the week and Horace for 2 nights. Would you mind if I asked Mopsey Diane and her husband (Williams) to stay over Sunday week? He is a great gardener and they are both very nice. They came over here last year and we made rather friends and I said I hoped they wd come here for a couple of nights next time. Mr Gunter comes today for the night - we dine with Valda. And George Lloyd on Friday over Sunday - I wish he wd have come next week but he is going to Turkey. Now I must tell you we can't dine with the Machells on Wednesday because she is going to be away on Tuesday and Wed. So if you want we will suggest ourselves to Arncliffe. I think that's better than Mt G. [Mount Grace] as His Ex will get his game of Bridge. I had a very agreeable evening at Wynyard and stayed all next morning to talk to her. Your affectionate daughter Gertrude
